Guide to the

Arrow Lake

Arrow Lake runs from Revelstoke to Castlegar BC between The Selkirk Mountains to the east and The Monashee Mountains to the west. It spans 230 km in length and is 56681 acres in size. The rugged shoreline and mountainous scenery make this a fantastic place to spend a few days fishing.

Arrow Lake has great fishing for Gerrard Rainbows, Bull Trout and Kokanee Salmon. Trolling Lyman plugs, Bucktail Flies and apex lures are best tactics for targeting these fish. The best fishing is during late winter, into mid summer and through to late fall. During the summer months fly fishing near the creek mouths in also very productive .

Kootenay Lake

Located in Southern British Columbia between the Selkirk and Purcell Mountain ranges near the town of Nelson, is one of the largest natural lakes in the province. Kootenay Lake is famous for world-class fishing for the largest native strain of Rainbow, which reach over 30 lbs and Bull Trout up to 25 lbs. .

Trolling is the preferred method for fishing this lake. Bucktails and plugs, flat-lined 300 feet behind the boat, work well when the fish are most active. Crankbaits and Flasher/ Hootchy combinations work well during the winter months when the fish are less active. Our charters run out of Balfour, Kaslo and Crawford bay. We use large covered boats suitable for fishing year round.
